TRANSHUMANCE

Teresa Dantas creates absolutely original pieces. In the case of this collection of jewellery in oxidised brass and leather, the source of inspiration could not be more unusual, by incorporating a rough object in the design of these pieces that, to our eyes, has nothing to do with jewellery - shearing scissors made by Mateus Filipe Miragaia, a blacksmith who makes these tools in Portugal in his workshop in Donfins, in Guarda municipality.

After making the prototypes by hand, Teresa Dantas turned to the microfusion technique to reproduce the pieces in oxidised brass. The microfusion process produces extremely intricate and complex shapes, which are difficult to achieve by other processes, creating pieces close to their final form in virtually all alloys.
